My mobile rang, it was a caller I didn’t recognise, but it wasn’t an 0843 number, so I presumed it wasn’t going to be a spam call. It wasn’t, it was a guy called Neil Capstick , the founder of Nëal & Wølf and Salon Promotions Ltd. After a long chat we decided to meet up, and about two weeks later I took myself off to the head office with no particular thought about what might happen from the meeting. I left [the meeting] laden down with my head spinning with ideas, plus a car boot full of goodies for reviewing, and dates in the diary for presenting to the Salon Promotions team at their sales meetings.
Neil’s passion for salon professional retail inspired me to research new ideas that salespeople could help salons implement into their business, and this formed the basis of the presentations I delivered to the team.
But alongside that, I had products to try out and to share with the review panel.
MATTER OF FACT : This one was just for me to use and review comprising of 7 skincare products! I’m not sure where to start with this product range as it’s not haircare, and whilst I am not an expert, I have always tried to use high quality products, and all I can say is Matter of Fact is genuinely the best range I have ever had the pleasure of using. I was introduced to the brand by Neil Capstick at one of Salon Promotions monthly sales meetings when it had just been launched. As an avid salon professional retail advocate I’m absolutely convinced every serious salon should stock this product range as it is so easy to use and the results are pretty much immediate. It’s so good that a therapist who I was seeing for some Cryosurgery (long story) told me that she had never seen skin heal so quickly after a session of the treatment.
For me, if beauty salons can retail haircare, then why can’t salons do the same with skincare, it just makes perfect sense.! Matter of Fact
Neal & Wolf: Neil very kindly gave me a box full of products to take away with me after our initial meeting and the reviewers for this website (www.emilmcmahon.com) clamoured after them. There are numerous blogs [on my website], check them out, every single product that was used and reviewed got glowing reports. But on a personal note, the Shape Pliable Paste is the best product I have found for styling my fine hair, not too heavy, not too light, it gives perfectly balanced styling. Oh and I can’t not mention the candles, diffusers, hand wash and lotion and hair fragrance, they are all amazing and from a retail perspective offer great incremental revenue streams for salons as well. Neal & Wolf
Salon Promotions also carry a wide range of salon professional products alongside Neal & Wolf, including Olaplex, Fabriq, Cloud Nine, Diva, the amazing Ecoheads, the incredible, ground breaking Goddess and much more, including their own Neal & Wolf colour.
Alongside getting to know the team at Salon promotions I was also lucky enough to be invited to be a guest speaker at an event they held for their clients. I was completely blown away by the swarms of hairdressers who descended on the hotel (Crow Wood Spa) bright and breezy on a Monday morning to be faced with a plethora of salon professional products and amazing presentations from Jade, Neil, influencer Joseph Boylan, education manager Laura Elliot and the Salon Promotions education team, alongside experts from all the salon professional brands, it was a breath of fresh air to be surrounded by passionate people all with the same goal, growing salon business.
