Part 3: Earlier this year I met up with industry stalwarts, Eddie and Alison Renda from JGR UK Distributions Ltd to discuss a potential collaboration on a new colour they were launching into the UK market. I was sufficiently impressed, not just with the product (Coloraqua) but also Eddie and Alison’s commitment and approach to the world of salon professional products that I signed on the dotted line there and then, I was in!

Alongside Coloraqua (the brand we met up to discuss)  JGR have a wide range of professional products that I (and the reviewers on this blog) have been lucky enough to use and review.

Coloraqua: A revolutionary new salon professional colour that delivers incredible results whilst caring for the planet and reducing salon stock levels due to the innovative water based colour that can be used for  semi, demi and permanent colourations. I joined the JGR team in Varese Italy for a few days immersion into the world of Coloraqua, and left feeling quietly confident that I was going to be involved in something rather extraordinary.

My involvement has been on a technical basis working alongside the marketing and creative teams, and I’m also responsible for the social media for the brand. This really is a range that offers something unique to salons that are looking to stand out from the crowd. Launching Coloraqua to the trade press alongside the team and UK Creative Director Tracey Ann Smith was a fabulous experience, hosted in a cool photographic studio in London, the event was buzzing with creativity and excitement about what is, genuinely a new opportunity for salons interested in colour that stands out from the crowd. https://www.nouvellecolor.com/collections/water-hair-color

Elchim: This ultra stylish hairdryer was gifted to me after I left my first meeting with Eddie and Alison, and whilst I don’t have enough hair to blow dry myself, every friend and family member who has visited this year has raved about the performance, the power, the controlled heat and the way it makes hair feel softer and smoother after blow-drying with it.

Mood: Another salon professional range that I’m very impressed with. Again, Alison and Eddie, and education manager Kevin introduced me to Mood hair and scalp products and they are quite incredible. Over the years I’ve used every hair loss product known to man and I can categorically state that Cell Force shampoo and anti-hairloss treatment are amongst the very best. Alongside my using the brand, the reviewers have been sending in their thoughts as well, and one, June, a seasoned product junkie had this to say: “Over the years I have tried most product ranges that look after coloured hair, from cheap and cheerful to very expensive, and I can say without a shadow of doubt that Mood Colour Protect shampoo and conditioners are the best I have ever used”.  Mood Haircare

Recently I was lucky enough to join Eddie and Alison alongside some of their team at The British hairdressing Awards and it was plain to see just how well respected they are within the industry as anyone who is anyone stopped at their table to say hi! It’s been a great experience getting to know everyone at JGR and I’m looking forward to seeing what 2026 brings with it.
