I’m not sure I believe in ‘luck’, but I question myself about it, because bizarrely, I sometimes feel incredibly lucky.

As I enter my 50th year in the world of hairdressing I now get the chance to work with companies and brands that are passionate about the professional world of hairdressing and all that that entails. Check out the blog pages on my website and you will discover what I mean, there are numerous posts about amazing SALON PROFESSIONAL products and posts about companies I have had the privilege of working alongside: MY BLOG HERE

Yesterday I was with JGR UK Distribution, an independent business that is the UK distributor for MOOD as well as lots of other SALON PROFESSIONAL brands, one of them being Coloraqua, a new innovative water based colour range that I have been working with alongside the JGR team and UK Creative Director Tracey Ann Smith. The event was a day for sharing news and views with their JGR Distributor network, a group of likeminded individuals all looking to help grow salon business. We started the event the night before with a fabulous dinner, the event happened at the iconic Belfry Hotel, and the evening set the scene for the following day perfectly.

The day started with Eddie & Alison Renda discussing 2025 successes and how the company plans to grow with the help of their invited audience. This set the scene for lots of product updates, launches and guests speakers.

I was involved with the launch of Coloraqua, alongside Tracey Ann Smith who, as always, created a gorgeous look to showcase the brand. Coloraqua is new to the UK and offers a more eco conscious, energy saving, stock reducing, vegan friendly, new approach to salon colour and you can discover more here: ColorAqua

Kevin Hamm, MOOD education manager then took the group through the upcoming (exciting) launches for MOOD Colour and Wetline. Kevin has been part of the JGR family for a long time and his incredible depth of knowledge was informative and inspiring on so many levels, alongside all his anecdotes and funny stories.

Paul Hetherington then delivered a passionate presentation about how to grow business the right way with the right salons, his experience in the hairdressing industry has helped him grow his account base significantly and he shared hints and tips about how he approaches salons and encourages them to change brands.

Eddie and Alison wrapped up the day with AOB and said THANK YOU to everyone again (those two words were the most used throughout the day).

So, is it luck that I ended up being part of this fabulous event working alongside such passionate, dedicated and creative people who fully support the world of SALON PROFESSIONAL products, or is it something else that made me be there?

Perhaps Lady Luck does exist, and perhaps she supports my endeavours to help salons remain successful and professional businesses.

Drawing on personal experiences, salon business and the challenges sales people face in their daily life,
I’ve created a story that can be used in salons and on sales calls that will help overcome the challenges faced in the world of retailing.
