For the last couple of years I have tried to always BE CONSISTENT with the messages and posts I have shared on this blog and across my social pages. It has been a challenge standing on a soapbox and making a case for #ProForPro – Salon professional products for Salon Professionals. At times it has felt like a losing battle, one blogger against huge corporations, but I have stood my ground and tried to help salon owners and their teams understand that the companies who have migrated into mass market channels are no longer supporting them as they once did.

Has #ProForPro cost me business opportunities, the answer is YES, Have I regretted the decision I made, the answer is NO. Just this week I received a message from a company that is attached to one of those giant brands asking would I like to review some products for them. I thought it was odd at first, then I thought it was very clever of the brand, and then I thought how the review panel would probably really like the products as they are a very good product range. Politely the offer was declined, I had to BE CONSISTENT in the messages that get shared, and reviewing a brand that, at this moment in time has 20% off in the high street would not be so.

Keeping the reviewers who have diligently reviewed products over the last 10 years happy is a challenge when products aren’t as readily available as they once were, but that’s a small price to pay with the decision to BE CONSISTENT that has affected lots of aspects of my daily working life, including reviews on this blog.
