Don’t Sell 2: Being Amazonian, hairdressers and retail, the new norm, is currently being printed and should be available in the next 7 – 10 days. Exciting and nerve wracking times ahead for me. Self publishing is a daunting process to put yourself through once, doing it twice is either a stroke of genius or complete and utter madness. Why? because the initial investment is a big outlay and who’s to say anyone wants a follow-up! But, I have wrote it, it’s been designed and it’s happening, that’s a definite no matter what happens from here on in.
So why did I decide to self publish, and why do I only make the books available on this website? It’s quite simple really, it’s all to do with keeping complete control of every aspect and also it helps minimise the costs associated with putting a book out into the world.
Since book 1 was published, lots of different things have happened in the world. Coved saw the publishing company I used first time around go out of business. The cost of postage has gone up massively, and with inflation heading for an all time high and the cost of living soaring, so has the cost of publishing the book.
All of these things had an impact on Vol 2, but I have tried my hardest to keep the costs to anyone who purchase a copy, or copies as low as can be.
To that end, I have not increased the cost of postage, which still stands at £2.40 for the UK, £6.50 for Europe and £9.50 for the rest of the world. I appreciate this is expensive but it’s completely out of my control.
The book will retail at £16, that’s £1.01 more than the first edition and is as low as I can go to make it a worthwhile proposition…. by the way, that doesn’t mean I’m going to be making millions from the sale of it, it’s not about that for me, it’s about sharing information to my fellow hairdressing community.
Book 1 will stay at the current price of £10 plus P&P.
Book 2 will be £16 plus P&P.
If you purchase both together the cost is £24 Plus P&P postage is amended for the weight of 2 books to £4 for the UK, £6.50 for Europe and £9.50 for the rest of the world.
