6th January 2021

January 6th: 16.30pm.

I sit here pondering; It’s a New Year and it’s time for New Goals.

I’m thinking back to last year and how the pandemic quashed so many hopes, dreams and plans. I’m also looking ahead to a new year filled with fresh ideas to make the year as successful and as productive as possible.

We have already suffered a set back with the current lockdown that ends perhaps end of January / mid February or not, dependent on how the virus is contained and how well the roll out of the vaccine is. But all is not lost, there is light at the end of what has been a very long tunnel, and as long as we pull together and all do our bit for the country, and the world, then we will, hopefully, have a more normal existence by the time summer comes around.

But, like all businesses I am not able to wait around till summer time, the wheels of industry need to keep turning, no matter how slowly, and that’s why I’m pondering, that’s why I am making plans and that’s why I’m allowing myself to dream of what might happen this year.

Fortunately, social media has (once again) exploded with more people logging in more frequently to check what’s going on. This keeps me busy with my social media clients, and it should keep you busy too! Make sure you are posting interesting, engaging and fun imagery regularly ….. daily is best! Your clients and followers want to see you are using this time productively. Post one thing every day, and try to avoid negativity, like talking about lockdown and covid, we all know the world is at a standstill, we don’t need reminding of it every day.

For me, the aim, whilst planning other aspects of my day to day job that are most definitely on hold, is to look at each different social platform and create posts that inform and entertain. It’s a challenge ….. it’s my goal to always deliver something followers enjoy. I’m not chasing numbers, they don’t serve any purpose, what works is having a core following that interacts and engages with your social world.

What I am also doing, is scribbling notes the moment they come into my head. Notes about training, and how to implement new ideas, on-line training , zoom calls etc.

I suggestion you look at what you want to do too, whilst you have chance. Set your goals, and then analyse how you are going to achieve them.

Use lockdown to be productive in as best a way you can.

Let me know how you get on. I will definitely be sharing my ideas on all social platforms.

Here’s looking at a year filled with positivity and achievements.

Drawing on personal experiences, salon business and the challenges sales people face in their daily life,
I’ve created a story that can be used in salons and on sales calls that will help overcome the challenges faced in the world of retailing.
