As of today, January 1st 2025 is just 21 days away! It’s time, in amongst the madness of the Christmas rush to start thinking about your year and how the business performed. A new year brings new opportunities. It’s the right time to start planning for 2025. With the significant changes in the professional haircare arena, there couldn’t be a better moment to think about change! The positives of change far outweigh the negatives, and a new start for the new year could be just the thing to give your salon a super boost of energy for you, your team and your clients’.

As the new year kicks in, make decisions that can reap rewards for 2025 and beyond. Get in touch with brands that you have seen that piqued your curiosity, ranges that suit your mantra, your ethos, your style! Don’t wallow in mediocrity, accepting that the brands you carry are also available in mass market channels, rise above it and create a new vibe for your salon.

With the significant move toward experiential moments when client shop, it really is the ideal time for you to create a new feel to the retail (and services) you offer. Hairdressers and Barbers have a captive audience. I have said it before and I’ll say it again, every retailer would dearly love to have upwards of 45 minutes with an individual. That time is so valuable as it gives your team the opportunity to talk about everything you have available in the salon, that time is so different from  walking through the aisles of a supermarket or chemist and as such is incredibly powerful if it is utilised correctly and if the environment is exciting and engaging for the client.

The excitement can be generated from seeing something new, a range that is new to them as well as you. A different approach to how you merchandise the ranges is also relevant, it’s no longer enough to stack up shelves, the retail area needs to talk to every client who walks through your doors.

Enjoy the festive rush, make the most of your time off to recharge the batteries and then set yourself goals that help take your business forward in 2025 and beyond.
