If you were a fashion designer or a product manufacturer and you were stepping into the world after lockdown, what would you do? If I was a designer or had a range of products I would do exactly what Balmain has done…. I would create a world awash with vibrant and uplifting colours. Colour Blocking is BIG news and the latest collection captures the need for something uplifting perfectly.
Balmain Paris have recently launched their Spring / Summer collection and it is glorious; it is technicolor with taste. Inspired by the 90’s, the fashion house everyone loves has added brightness and lightness to their world and I absolutely love it!
Alongside the fashion collections, Balmain has also created a collection of hair accessories and hair styles that match the mood perfectly.
Of course, if you read this blog you will already know that I am a huge fan of Balmain and always admire their collections, but this season really appeals to me and my love of colour.
Hair is sensational, from big blow-outs to razor sharp crops, texture, waves and curls and longer lengths that mirror the high end fashion for all things tye dyed.
Glamour and style are always key to Balmain collections , but this season it has been elevated to a new level and oozes sophistication, from the darkest burgundy tones through to rich sandy blondes, each image makes a strong statement. The guy, the ultra cool guy with his nod to Grace Jones iconic hairstyle is fabulous, if only I had enough hair to wear it myself!
Tye Dye is absolutely on trend and the image below is so cool and so of the moment. Taking a long head of hair, giving it a big flick of a fringe and adding blue tones throughout, WOW, that’s all I can say!
Waves, curls and texture are big news, and adding accessories adds a cool touch to these ultra modern takes on classic 70’s 80’s and 90’s hairstyles.

From a products and accessories perspective, the colour blocking concept continues in unadulterated glory.
