S W O O N:

Sometimes I feel very lucky when product houses send products to be reviewed. Generally the goodies get shipped out to reviewers who have hair suitable to the ranges that I receive. Occasionally, I get the chance to review, and this, Balmain Homme, this is one of those chances.

Regular readers know that I am huge fan of Balmain Hair Couture, and I was thrilled when I heard that a mans range was getting launched. I was even more thrilled when this beautiful box landed on my doorstep.

The box contains a Hair & Body Shampoo, Scalp Scrub and beard Oil (with comb). As with all Balmain Hair Couture collections the presentation is everything; this looks incredible, and if you need a gorgeous gift for the man in your life, I am here to tell you, THIS IS IT! So, I have been using the range for a few weeks now and here’s what I think about each product.

Scalp Scrub: This product is absolutely amazing. It’s a scalp detoxifier and gentle exfoliator. Applied to wet hair and massaged through, it feels fresh, exhilarating and stimulating as it is massaged in. Think of salt and sugar scrubs that are fashionable for the skin, that’s the effect you get from Scalp Scrub, but, it’s also very gentle on the hair. I use it twice a week and my scalp feels clean and healthy. A little of this product goes a very long way. The packaging is sensational, it looks so stylish and expensive! (it’s not cheap, but it’s well worth the money spent for the effect it has).

Hair & Body Wash: Luxurious, that’s the best word I can use to describe this wash, it feels different to any other body wash I have used before, there’s a richness to the lather that you can feel as its used, coupled with the signature Homme fragrance of invigorating citric freshness of Bergamot with the woody aspect of dry Sandalwood, it’s a gorgeous product. Most hair & body wash products are either good for the skin and okay for hair, or vice versa. This hair and body wash is fabulous for both. My hair feels nourished and cleansed, my skin feels hydrated and nourished.

Beard Oil: Here’s the thing, I don’t have a full beard, I keep it quite short and trim it with clippers every 7 days. However, the facial hair I have is exceptionally coarse and dry, it feels itchy almost all of the time, so it was time to give a beard oil a go! I love the little transparent comb that comes with the beard oil, unfortunately my beard doesn’t get long enough to be able to use it. But, the oil, that fragrance and the smoothing effect it has on my stubble is beautiful. The fragrance lingers in a good way, it’s not over-powering, it’s just there in the background reminding you that you smell fabulous, and the softness of my facial hair and complete lack of itch is awesome.

As usual, I am mightily impressed with Balmain Hair UK for bringing something new to the market, something so very stylish and high performing! Of course there are other men’s ranges out there, and I’m sure they do a great job, however Balmain Homme is a good few notches above the rest when it comes to packaging, performance and fragrance.

Bravo, I Love This Range.
