A new brand to this website, FFOR has been making inroads into the UK marketplace for a while now. FFOR stands for Free From | Original | Real and the products are free from anything harsh or harmful, contain no parabens, sulphates, mineral oils or synthetic fragrances. Wherever possible no virgin plastics are used in the packaging, and all ingredients are ethically sourced. FFOR does not test on animals and has no gender stereotypes.

The range is definitely one for the here and now, as more and more of us strive to be kinder to the planet.

There are 3 simple rules FFOR live by:

1: DO GOOD: environmentally friendly at all times, 100% vegan, and all packaging is recyclable.

2: LOOK GOOD:  It’s all about natural beauty, without stereotypes, believing in beautiful hair with formulas that care for the hair whilst supporting  self-expression.

3: FEEL GOOD: Ingredients are as naturally derived as possible, the brand is environmentally, ethically, morally and sustainably responsible, creating great hair whilst looking after the planet.

So what about the products then? Well the reviewers have been using the brand for almost 2 months now and here’s what they had to say.

Dawn, one of our longest standing reviewers and one of the most challenging to please was given Re:Nourish shampooconditioner and Re:Plenish Mask, here’s her thoughts:

“First impressions, very different to the normal products I’m given to review which are usually violet based, specifically for blonde hair. However Emil asked me to try these as my hair was in need of some extra care, as it had been a while since I had been to the salon because of lockdown.

Re:Nourish shampoo and conditioner were very gentle and at first I didn’t think they would be enough to give my hair the moisture that it needed, but they proved me wrong. My hair felt great after I had blow-dried it, it had body and bounce, the condition was excellent and the shine on my natural hair (big roots) and my coloured hair was lovely. Since I started using the products, I have had my hair coloured and when I use the Re:Plenish mask the result is really noticeable. The condition is excellent, the shine is great and when I’ve styled it the volume, smoothness and overall look of my hair is impressive.

I was cynical at first because the ingredients are all natural, but I am impressed with the performance of the three products I was given to review”.

My turn:

“Regular readers will know I am just a little obsessed with hair loss products and they are my constant go to, and have been for the best part of 33 years. There aren’t many products I haven’t tried, but FFOR Re:Gain Remedy is the first natural treatment I have used.

I am impressed, the product when applied feels refreshing, stimulating and energising. The peppermint has a cooling effect on the scalp after the initial sense of tingling (always a good sign). Ultimately I am not expecting to suddenly have a luxurious mop of hair, but what I am trying to do is to keep what I have for longer and I do think Re:Gain has helped. I have also noticed that my hair seems to be growing quicker, now that could be in part to the change in seasons. However, I’m convinced this natural product is as good as most of the other products I have used, and in some cases better than products laced with ‘not so friendly’ ingredients.

I’ve also been using Blow:By Blow styling crème. Once again, if you have read previous posts you will know I don’t use a lot of styling products but I do like to keep my hair in place and need something light to dress it without it becoming too oily or flat. Blow:By Blow does exactly that, my hair is groomed and stays in shape all day long. It came at a perfect time as I have been doing numerous Zoom/Teams meetings and I have had a head of hair that looked respectable, not fluffy. So, all in all, I am impressed”.

June, another seasoned reviewer and a serious product junkie was given Re:Move Yellow shampoo and conditioner as well as Inner: Strength concentrate drops, here’s what she has to say:

“I’m a big fan of anti-yellowing product as my hair is coloured a golden blonde with brighter highlights. Over the years I have used lots of different products. Some made my hair feel very dry, some made it too violet, and some didn’t seem to do much. So, I was interested to see what FFOR would do.

At first the products felt as though my hair was going to be hard after using them. The moisturising elements didn’t kick in until my hair was starting to dry whilst I styled it. But, when it was finished the result was lovely. My blondes both looked brighter and fresher and I could see the paler highlights were more defined. I have used the three products quite a few times now and I’m getting used to how they feel in the wet state. I really like Inner:Strength, I add a couple of drops to my conditioner and I also use them on their own. I’ve noticed that the hard feel from the Re:Move conditioner only happens when I add Inner:Strength to it, it’s adding body and strength to my hair.

People have commented on how full and bouncy, shiny and healthy my hair looks, so the products are obviously doing what they are supposed to do. All in all, I like FFOR, I like the ethos behind what the brand stands for as well”.

So, FFOR was a resounding hit with me, Dawn and June.
