Much loved, Joico Moisture Recovery has had a facelift and I was delighted to be able to share these products with Julie, a regular reviewer here on mrhaircare’s blog. Julie has lots of hair, it’s coloured and coarse in texture, so she was perfect. Here’s what she says.

“I have had plenty of time to try out Joico Moisture Recovery. Firstly, when Emil gave me the three products I was very impressed with the packaging, it looks so expensive, I loved the fragrance, clean and fresh with a great subtle perfume to it. Having been in isolation for the last few weeks I have not been abusing my hair as much as I would on a daily basis and I’m trying really hard to not blow-dry it or straighten it, in fact that only happens when I’ve got FaceTime sessions booked with my friends and family, well you have to keep up appearances don’t you!

I’m not exaggerating when I say my hair was wrecked, it’s been coloured for years and it’s long and thick so it gets lots of heat thrown at it to help me smooth it out. So the respite has done some good anyways over the last 3 weeks, but I’d already noticed a difference before the lockdown started.

Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo is luxurious, it lathers really well and doesn’t cause tangles like some other shampoos do.  After using the shampoo, before I apply any conditioning product, I am able to comb through quite easily, and that’s not normally the case. My hair feels soft and moisturised and it has a definite bounce to it.

Joico Moisture Recovery Conditioner is fabulous, it really really smoothes and conditions, and makes my hair feel very healthy. I like this a lot because even though it’s a conditioning product for damaged hair the formulation isn’t too heavy, it’s more than enough to do the job it needs to do without adding any unnecessary weight. Also, when I rinse it out it does so with ease.

My favourite product though is the Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm, what a treat this is. I’m currently using it once a week as a deep nourishing treatment and that’s absolutely what it is. The balm seems to penetrate my hair much deeper and has a really long lasting effect, so much so that I only need to use a minimal amount of the conditioner when I wash my hair the next time. The results are visible, better shine, smoother finish, more bounce and life. I really love this!

A very special collection of products and I’m thrilled that I got to use them at a time when I’m doing less than normal to my hair, as I’m convinced the effect of them alongside with not using heat has restored and repaired my hair”.
