Scalp Clinix from Schwarzkopf has certainly captured the imagination of the review panel here at emilmcmahon.com. The products that normally get reviews here are for the hair, and that’s cool because the review panel all want to have gorgeous locks. But the response to the call out for scalp specific product reviewers was great and here is what they have to say.
I’m starting with me, as I have been using the hair-loss products in the range for the past 6 weeks and anyone who reads this blog will know, I am very keen on trying to maintain my hair with shampoos and treatments that help nourish and fortify my hair at and during its growth phase and beyond.
I have been using Pre Shampoo Scrub every week and the fresh feeling it leaves after use is fab. Scalp feels thoroughly cleaned and hydrated, not dry and itchy. It’s like an exfoliator you would use on your face, but it’s specifically for the scalp and is a lovely treatment to use. A little goes a long long way and I discovered that emulsifying it before rinsing away eliminates the product completely.
The Anti Hair Loss shampoo and treatment are without doubt some of they best I have ever used. In fact, in the short span of time I have been using them, I would say the difference in the strength of hair and the noticeable new growth is the very best out of all the many different brands I have tried and used over the last 32 years of using hair loss products.
The shampoo and treatment both have a unique consistency, they feel almost oil based, and the combination of ingredients really feel active and beneficial when used. I AM VERY IMPRESSED!
GINSENG EXTRACT which improves blood circulation and is considered as revitalising. It is known to help increase the dermal cells on the scalp which, in turn, strengthens the follicles and roots of the hair.
CARNITINE TARTRATE which in combination with Taurine and Echinacea Purpurea Extract supports the hair follicle with energy during the growth phase. The hair follicle cells stay longer in the growth phase and are also more active.
TAURINE which is known for its positive effects on the skin as it protects it from drought stress. In combination with Carnitine Tartarte and Echinacea Purpurea Extract it protects the hair follicle from premature entry into the hair loss phase.
and CHINACEA PURPUREA EXTRACT with its It’s anti-inflammatory effect that helps to reduce scalp itching and gives the scalp a cool refreshed and clean feel.
Clinical studies showed that, together with Carnitine Tartrate and Taurine, it is particularly effective against non-pathological hair loss.
Schwarzkopf Scalp Clinix Hair Loss shampoo and treatment are currently sitting at No.1 in my list of all time fave products, and that’s no mean feat by the way, they have usurped Kerastase Densifique!!
Our review panel, it’s fair to say, are never quite as passionate in their reviews as I am, but that’s because my background in hairdressing and products makes me excited when I get to use something that I know is doing a very good job, and the three products I have been using, and am still using, definitely deliver!
John has been using Flake Control shampoo and treatment, here’s what he had to say:
“I work indoors and because of the nature of my work, there are always doors and windows left wide open, so the weather always plays a part in how my hair and skin behave. I suffer with a flaky scalp regularly and when I use supermarket products they take away the flakes but they return within a couple of days. ‘Flake Control’ has improved this immeasurably, even though I still wash my hair every other day there is no visible sign of flakiness anymore, and the itch that I sometimes get when it’s at its worse has completely vanished. I have also learnt that the shampoo is excellent for removing the wax I use to style my hair, this is an added bonus as sometimes after shampooing there is a greasy residue left behind, not now. The treatment is so easy to use, I simply work it along my parting and then down in lines toward my ears and the nape of my neck, massage it through and rinse away, it really is that simple! Thank you, I really like Flake Control and would recommend it to anyone who has a problem with an itchy, flaky scalp”.
Gill has been using ‘Soothing shampoo and treatment’:
“For a long as I can remember I’ve suffered with a sensitive scalp, it has always felt tense, tight, itchy and uncomfortable. I have used products prescribed by my doctor but they have made my hair feel and look terrible so invariably I give up on them and suffer the uncomfortable sensation on my scalp and have healthy looking hair. Soothing shampoo and treatment have changed all that. Most importantly (for me) my hair feels great and my colour doesn’t dry out and fade. The ingredients that I discovered when I googled, I am familiar with, Allantoin, Panthenol, Witch Hazel and Bisabolol, but Blue coneflower extract is new to me. Whatever the combination is all I know is my hair feels great and so does my scalp. This is the first time in many years that this has been the case and I am absolutely over the moon with Soothing shampoo and treatment, they deliver 100% for my scalp, now nice and soothed, no irritation or redness, and my hair, still looking healthy and shiny, and for that I have to say, this is the best product I have used ever!!”.
And finally, Dave has been using ‘Oil Control’
“It’s no fun having to wash your hair every morning and evening, but that’s what I normally have to do. I have oily skin, so naturally that means my scalp is the same, I think?? Whatever, at work I have to wear a hard hat and that just increases the production of oil on my scalp and my hair. It’s the same for my face at the moment because of having to wear masks all the time. Emil gave me ‘Oil Control’ to use and cynically I said ‘Ok’ not believing a shampoo and treatment were going to do anything major to a problem I have always had. Interestingly I have never used a product specific for grease or oil as my barber has never had anything like that in his shop, and if I’m totally honest I kind of wrote off the effect before I’d even used the products. So to say I’m gobsmacked is a genuine understatement. These products have changed my hair and scalp, no more oil, well very little when I take my hard hat off, not enough to be noticed by anyone. The effect it has had on me cannot be underestimated, I feel more confident and ‘clean’ even though I knew my hair and scalp wasn’t dirty before, now it just feels great”.
So there you have it, glowing reviews from everyone, including me, and I am fussy, very fussy indeed!
