Thursday October 8th, sun iss shining, it’s a glorious Autumn day. So why talk Christmas, it’s still 3 months away, and we have other things on our mind ….. mainly covid-19!

And yet, Boots, Superdrug, M&S, TK Maxx, Paperchase, Primark, H&M, Superdrug ….. every major retail outlet is talking the festive season, not in a subtle way, Oh no, it’s full on!

Your clients are being enticed by other retailers, so don’t miss out on potential additional revenue, surely that in itself is a good enough reason to start talking festive with your clients.

You don’t need to #DeckTheHalls, or make your salon look like a winter wonderland, but you do need to make your clients aware that you will have fabulous gift sets available.

All you need to do is start dropping Christmas into the conversation, because, guaranteed your clients are thinking about, or have already started shopping.

If you have an online shop…. FANTASTIC! If not, look at setting up a shopify account on your Facebook page, why? Because online shopping grew exponentially during lockdown, and the last thing you want is for clients to shop online, in someone else’s page, so take the plunge and look at getting your e-commerce sorted.

If you don’t want to go to all the bother of having an online platform, make sure your team are talking about the Christmas gifts you will be stocking face to face with their clients.

Perhaps you could host a Zoom festive night, where you showcase everything you will be stocking, seeing as how an in salon event is not going to be happening anytime soon.

Don’t miss out on sales as of now! Kick start your festive event today, don’t delay.

And don’t forget, most of us have not shopped like we used to for a long time, so Christmas shopping is the ideal time to have a splurge! That is what your clients will be wanting to do, just make sure they do it with you!

Drawing on personal experiences, salon business and the challenges sales people face in their daily life,
I’ve created a story that can be used in salons and on sales calls that will help overcome the challenges faced in the world of retailing.
