If I was to write a blog post that simply said Thank You to everyone who has supported me this year then the recommended 500 words would simply consist of names, because this year, the world of a self employed business consultant has been the most challenging of my career but you have been there to help me every step of the way.

After working hard to build a business based around educating hairdressers in salons and product companies sales and education teams, the onslaught of covid in 2020 brought my training world to a standstill. Work booked in the diary was cancelled left right and centre, dates were re-arranged and cancelled again, and then 2021 saw us start the year with another lockdown. This, I believe changed everything for businesses as they looked toward tightening their belts in any way possible, training became a luxury not a necessity.

Fortunately my social media consultancy has kept me busy throughout the entire duration of lockdowns and covid restrictions. I love looking after social media for businesses, and watching their engagement grow, it’s a slow process but a fruitful one. But I miss the interaction with people. To my social clients, thank you for choosing me to look after your social world.

I, like most consultants have delivered training via Zoom and teams to product companies, and to those who have called on my services, thank you, it means a lot to have your support. Thank you Moroccanoil, Kao, Beautimport, and everyone else who has invested in online education with me.

To the product companies who support my blog and provide me with an endless stream of new products to review, thank you; without knowing it, you keep me firmly entrenched in the world of haircare. Big big thanks to Balmain Hair UK, Schwarzkopf Professional, Fudge Professional, Joico, Eleven Australia and K18 (Scotland) Alison Jameson Consultants, Alfaparf, Xpert Professional and everyone else who has given me products to play with.

Thank you to everyone who follows me on social media, I don’t have thousands of followers (thank goodness) but the followers I do have are always positive and I really appreciate that.

To everyone else I know, no matter how big or small a role you play in my life, thank you for being part of it, you make it a fuller more rounded place to be, and for that, you deserve thanks as well.

I’m wishing for a brighter, happier, more positive world in 2022, but whatever comes our way, I will always appreciate the connections and friendships I have with you all.

All the very best. Emil.

Drawing on personal experiences, salon business and the challenges sales people face in their daily life,
I’ve created a story that can be used in salons and on sales calls that will help overcome the challenges faced in the world of retailing.
